Alien... by Cakes-and-Comics Alien... by Cakes-and-Comics
Here is another poster for one of my favourite films... Alien! It evokes the orginal teaser poster for the film but also I thought it would be cool to make it more suggestive by adding in some details such as the facehugger and also the shadows...

I am also working on a couple more Alien posters... so should post them up by the weekend.

Matt.

I most definitely like the subtlety of the design which exists despite the 'in your face' of the subject. The design concept might be lost on those who've never seen the movie, not really knowing what the pods are (or the face huggers) but for those of us who have, this is quite lovely!

It has a kind of retro feel with the faded pastels, kind of like the image is lost in the fog of remembrance.

I could easily see this as a Mondo poster, and I would recommend contacting them in case they plan a showing of any of the Alien movies in the future!

As a fan of the Alien series, I have to say that this is one of the best posters I've seen of Alien (both professional and fan-made).

The use of light greens with subtle blues makes this poster feel very calm and relaxed. Along with that, the color scheme is also very relevant to the film, which is also nice.

The minimalistic style of this poster is also wonderful. They way that subtle textures are used to give visual interest to the piece makes it wonderful to look at, and, once more, complements the feeling of the film itself.

Furthermore, the almost Art Deco style of the poster—the lights coming out of the egg—is very, very nice.

Then, to wrap it all together, there is the title. The wonderful font that is used is just simple enough to be unobtrusive, and the spacing is reminiscent of the opening shots of the film. It's placement is also quite nice.

Overall, this is an amazing poster that I would love to frame on my wall. Well done.
